The Broken Ear<\/b><\/i>\u00a0(French:\u00a0L’Oreille cass\u00e9e<\/b><\/i>, originally published in English as\u00a0Tintin and the Broken Ear<\/b><\/i>) is the sixth volume of\u00a0The Adventures of Tintin<\/i>, the comics series by Belgian cartoonist\u00a0Herg\u00e9. Commissioned by the conservative Belgian newspaper\u00a0Le Vingti\u00e8me Si\u00e8cle<\/i>\u00a0for its children’s supplement\u00a0Le Petit Vingti\u00e8me<\/i>, it was serialised weekly from December 1935 to February 1937. The story tells of young Belgian reporter\u00a0Tintin\u00a0and his dog\u00a0Snowy, who pursue the thieves of a South American\u00a0fetish\u00a0identifiable by its broken ear. In doing so, he ends up in the fictional nation of\u00a0San Theodoros, where he becomes embroiled in a war and discovers the\u00a0Arumbaya\u00a0tribe deep in the forest.<\/p>\n
