Studio Ghibli – 1/172 scale projects
Of course, as any true Miyazaki fan knows, one of the best things about his films are the wonderful machinery… especially the flying ones. So it should come as no surprise that Miyazki’s works lend themselves well to a cross-over into scale modelling. Imagine the thrill of bringing something off the screen and being able to hold it in your hand?
I’m not alone in that either. In Japan there is a group that goes by the Miyazaki Mecha Modellers Club that does just that. So this section of my blog focuses on my won attempts to build a variety of 1/72 scale models from across his work (Ghibli and beyond). I’m doing my best to build something from each one of his works.
I’ve decided to designate 1/72 scale as my “miniature museum” scale. So while there may be a bit of action depicted, it’s done in museum-display style.
